This Privacy Policy describes how the CompassX Android application ("CompassX", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use the app. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

1. Information We Collect

Location Data

The core function of CompassX is to display your current location on a map and to show compass direction. To do this, the app requests:

• Precise location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION) via GPS and/or GNSS satellites
• Approximate location (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) as a fallback

Location readings (latitude, longitude, altitude, accuracy, speed, bearing, and timestamp) are stored locally on your device in an on-device database. This data is never uploaded to any server and is only used to display your position within the app.

Usage Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage events to help us understand how the app is used and improve it over time. No personally identifiable information is attached to these events. Analytics data is processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

Crash Reports

We use Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) to automatically collect crash reports when the app encounters an error. Reports contain device model, OS version, app version, and a stack trace. No location data or personal information is included in crash reports.

2. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:

• Google Play Services
• Google Analytics for Firebase
• Firebase Crashlytics
• Mapbox

3. Data Retention and Deletion

Location history stored locally on your device is retained until you uninstall the app or clear the app's data through Android system settings (Settings → Apps → CompassX → Storage → Clear Data). We have no access to this data and cannot delete it on your behalf.

Analytics and crash-report data retained by Google/Firebase is subject to Firebase's retention policies.

4. Changes to This Policy

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time at our sole discretion. If we make material changes in the way we collect or use your information, we will notify you through the app. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
